Organization
Baytown Blue Santa is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit program organized by police officers and detectives from the Baytown Police Department with support from the Baytown Municipal Police Association. Each year, Baytown Blue Santa provides children of needy families with wrapped Christmas gifts so that the children in these families can experience the magic and joy of the Christmas season.
Baytown Blue Santa has been providing families of incorporated Baytown with assistance since the 1970′s. This would not be possible without the support and donations from the local community and businesses each year.
The Blue Santa Program operates from donations and contributions from the community. The Baytown Blue Santa program accepts applications for assistance starting November 1st. The applications are reviewed and qualifying families receive assistance.
The number of families that can be helped depends on the number of donations and contributions the program receives. After the applications are reviewed, the Blue Santa board determines the families to be helped.
Some of the Gifts are delivered to the families by employees of the city of Baytown and other volunteers on the delivery day. If there is a very large number of applicants, some applicants will be asked to pick up their presents from our home at the San Jacinto Mall.
